Friday at the nearby Jetty

The last Friday was probably one of the memorable ones. =) On that particular Friday, my sister and her collegues went for lunch in one of a famous restaurant in Penang. While indulging in her lunch, she suddenly spotted a good-looking Firefly pilot also having lunch there with his overly-done-make-up stewardess. My sister told me the story while I was driving us back from Penang to Jitra. Along the way, I couldn't quite process if I were in her situation, what would I say to the handsome pilot? Now now, this is not about hitching a ride with him or hooking up, but seriously, to start a conversation. To be a friendly person I always am. But when it comes to the local guys, I think a lot before striking up a conversation with a total stranger. And stranger still, I did not find it hard if I were to start a conversation be it with guys or girls local or foreign, if we were in the same course or seminar, something of that sort. But if outside of all that, in the streets, in stores, in restaurants, I lost it totally.

Maybe I feel that when I'm having my "me-time", I just don't give a damn about anything else around me. Seriously. Most especially when I'm eating hahahah~ that's one of my favourite time besides sleeping. Back to my sister's story, well now, if I were to strike up a conversation with this pilot guy, what should I say? Hmm~ I'd say,"Hey, I see you're a Firefly pilot. Good Lord, what a coincidence! I happens to be a pilot too!" He would say,"Really? That's great! Which company you worked for?" I would then say, quite confidently,"Ohh~ you pilot Firefly yek, I pilot gak, pilot Feri Pulau Pinang! Kelas you, you bawak orang jer kan? I siap bawak keta, lori, moto, orang, sebut apa jer sumer I bawak! Nih you, stewardess, you serve aper atas flight? Takat air oren ngan muffin jer kan? I siap boleh serve nasi lemak lagi! You nak aper sumer ader. Kalau time I lalu kt laut tu, semua bot2 nelayan tu jgn cuba2 berani nk challenge. Kalau kapal besar pon tolong sket yer, parking kt sebelah tu. I have a schedule to catch. So, bila nk naik Feri I?"

So, what do you think? You think he'll like me for my honesty or what? Hehehehehehehehe ;-p

CaNtIk la sangat..................................

Cantik~ cukup sinonim dengan wanita. But seriously, penting sangat ke untuk cantik? Cantik kalau diri sendiri nak feel good okaylah but if you just did it because you want to show off, or because your boyfriend started complaining, I think it's unjustifiable. Honestly, beauty is skin deep, it's more than just a pretty face. Kalau muka cantik, attitude zilch nak buat apa? Tapi serious cakaplah, orang zaman sekarang ni memang sebahagiannya tadak bahasa. Apatah lagi dah ada keja elok sket, apa lagi, jalan naik ke langit la jawabnya. Satu perkara la, kalau orang tu asalnya susah tiba2 dapat kesenangan, dia memang umpama kaduk naik ke junjung. Walaupun bukan semua macam tu, tapi pengalaman peribadi sendiri tengok ramai sangat macam ni. Dalam my own office pon, kalau yang degree accounting tu, mentang2 la gaji dia lebih sket, kepala dia pon ada besar lebih sket! Wait, hang on, bukan lebih sket, lebih banyak! Kalau nak dibandingkan dengan hot air baloon tu, besaq lagi kepala depa ni~  weheehehehehhe!

Bukan apa, di hari Ahad yang cerah dan indah ni bukanlah berniat nak kutuk sesiapa, tapi tak tahan la bro~ kalau hari2 mengadap orang2 macam ni dikhuatiri kita pon akan jadi macam depa. So, mintak simpang la Ya Allah! Mintak dijauhkan dari makhluk2 ni. Anyway, back to the main topic. Cantik~ first let's focus on physical beauty. Nak cantik ni kena rajin esp. kalau kita ni memang "kureng" sket la dari segi paras rupa. Kena la melabur sket, beli facial care, make-up, baju, kasut, handbag, etc. Pendek kata dari hujung rambut (or tudung) sampai ke hujung kaki, everything must be taken care of! Susah woooo~ bukan senang. Duit kena banyak. Kalau tak banyak sangat, kena la berjimat cermat. Ikat perut. Okay per, buleh kurus sket. Heee~ tapi definitely not for me la. I'm a food lover, so, I'd rather spend my earnings to enjoy good food than dieting for the sake of appearances. Not that I say appearance doesn't matter, it actually does. You must take care of your looks because whether you like it or not, First Impression Counts! Bukan ajer time kita nk pi interview, tapi hari2 kita pi office or keluar sekalipon, we must take care of our sense of dressing. Ya lah~ Islam pon menuntut untuk kita menjaga kebersihan dan penampilan what~ So, jangan selekeh2 okay?

Tapi satu hal la, most lelaki la kan, diorang tak kisah pon bab2 penampilan ni. Though nowadays, men are more open to this subject and half of them are already termed as metrosexual, still mostly tak kisah langsung bab2 menjaga penampilan ni. Selekeh, ketiak busuk, rambut berminyak, baju dia mak aiiiiii~ macam setahun tak basuh! Yucks!!!

Bukan aku pinjam duit hang pon beli keta ke hapa ke~ tulah contoh2 orang keluar U, tapi BANGANG tahap dewa! Orang yang bijak ni, dia cool ajer. Lagi satu cool tu bukan maksud org mulut byk cam aku ni tak cool (aku COOL tahap dewa kay~ ;-p) tapi cool ni bermaksud pabenda pon yg dia ada, dia tak kecoh la. Down to earth, baik hati, hormat orang tua, tak berpura2 (aku benci sial sekor artis betina nih! kalau nk tau tanya adik aku~), dan tau serta kenal diri dia sendiri. Tak payah la nk belagak kalau keje gomen tu~ taulah awak ada pencen pon! menyampah aku! Aku bersyukur la sbb belajar kt UTP, member2 aku mostly anak lord, pastu pandai tahap dewa, pastu keje perghhhhh~ sumer engineer belaka! Tapi tak pon deme2 tu over, or belagak sombong ngan apa yang diorang ada. Diorang cool ajer~ tak kecoh pon. Nk dibandingkan dengan mangkuks2 ayon kt my organization now, mmg takleh banding la. So, bangga la kawan ngan deme2 ni. Malah depa ni sgt2 memahami aku waktu aku melepaskan jawatan di PCSB dulu. Dan diorang tumpang happy aku venture new world, siap tanya lagi, mcm mana nk apply? Cool or what? Bangga siot kawan ngan depa2 ni~ mmg humble.

So, di akhir kata, nak cantik tu takpa, tapi jangan sampai memakan diri. Dan pesanan untuk diri sendiri dan juga generasi muda sekarang, belajar2 la untuk berbudi bahasa. Aku rasa kegersangannya tu ketara sangat dah wey~ mmg budak2 sekarang ni kebanyakannya kuang hajar laa~ nak tunjuk keras kepala memanjang, apa kata ko pegi tunjuk kekerasannya kt dinding? Kita tengok sapa menang sapa mampus dalam kebodohan! Hiiii~ dah~ malas dah nk beleter~ sampai kiamat pon tak abih~

What's Up with Reading?

Okay, sounds cliche I know. But seriously, Malaysians and the last-time-I-heard poll says miraculously, read only two books a year. So, I am thus, odd since I read more than two books each year and alright, I admit it, addicted to books? I am. Seriously. Why? Because it's fascinating! I love reading. I wish I could have all the time in the world to read. Reading thriller-suspense books from authors alike Dan Brown, is really exciting, bone-chilling, and not to mention, mind boggling at the same time. But all in all, I love it. Even one of my own boss, Tn. Azman, shares the same passion as I am. He also, an avid reader and loves John Grisham and Jeffrey Archer. I used to like reading romance novels, but I now totally hates it. They are nothing but the same. The only thing I enjoyed whilst reading those is the 19th century-era potrayal in the story. I love vintage and I definitely love old-scene movies. But the whole body of those novels are just nauseating. They do feel like that if taken too much. So, stop to those. Haha~

Right. Now, what am I reading at the moment? In one of the blogs I'm following, a friend is reading two historical-based books and I'm currently reading one of them. It's called, What Your History Teacher Didn't Teach You Vol. 1 by Farish A. Noor. So far, I'm hooked. Prior to this book, I spent about a week to finish another Dan Brown's thriller-suspense novel, The Lost Symbol. Though I still think The Da Vinci Code is the best to date by Mr. Brown, I also love this new number from him. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

At the moment, I have another two books at hand to be finished. Two children's books, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator and 13 Curses. I don't know when this will commence but soon I reckon.

Now, if you ask me why Malaysians in general do not enjoy reading as much as I do~ well, I reckon it's because it is not in our culture. Our parents hardly read books to tell us to sleep, nor do they read themselves in their spare time. I'm not blaming them but all good habits must start from home. Someone must start doing it. I do admit that my parents also didn't do all the above mentioned, but I must thank my mum for her discreet ways to encourage me to read. She keeps on buying books and stashed them to me. I was introduced first to books amongst other things. The only thing she will buy me unconditionally is books. So, MUM, thank you! I owe you this one, too. Amongst so many other things~ =)

So, do my siblings enjoy the same habit? Well, not really. My elder sister is, but my two others not so. Especially my youngest sister. heheheh~ she'll get cross with this! I keep on telling her about good books. The only books she ever purchased (as in novels) are Paddington Bear Takes the Train and Angels (the one made from the tv series starring David Boreanaz). Uhhhhh~ come on! At this point, I think even the statistic is good enough for us. Well, two books per year is better than nothing! I believe it is a responsibility for "bookworms" alike myself to inculcate this positive habit to others, especially to my own family members. Lu, you're my next project! hahahahha!!!

Alright then, I must resume to Mr. Farish now.

p/s: he's quite a good looking bloke at "that" age hahahahahahahah~

Hibernate

Well, it's time to hibernate again. Don't worry, I'm not a polar bear, still am human hehehe~

I'll write more but this is hibernation period.

Adios!
